Enviri Corporation Scrap Metal Trader in Seven Fields, Pennsylvania

Represent Harsco Environmental North America in the acquisition of scrap metal to include pricing of material, pricing, and coordinating transportation, sourcing of scrap material, communicating with vendors, maintaining business relationships, negotiating payment terms, negotiating specification of materials, visiting suppliers, and coordinating with appropriate parties. Assist in special projects as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify Opportunities: Seek out and identify opportunities to buy and sell scrap metal commodities.

  • Negotiate Deals: Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers and customers.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends and conditions related to scrap metal commodities.

  • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.

  • Compliance: Ensure all transactions comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to optimize turnover and profitability.

  • Logistics: Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of scrap metal commodities.

  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of scrap metal commodities meets the standards of buyers.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on trading activities and revenue projections.

  1. Basic Qualifications:
  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from college or university or equivalent business experience

  • Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in generating new business as a scrap metal buyer, or sales role within the industrial sector.

  • Education or Experience

  • Master’s degree business, sales, or marketing

  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills

  • Exceptional presentation, project planning skills, delivery execution and oral and written communication skills

  • Must be responsive and have excellent attention to detail skills

  • Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in trading, preferably in the scrap metal industry

  • Ability to analyze market trends and make informed decisions

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to scrap metal commodities

  • Proficiency in inventory management and logistics coordination

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Metrics and data driven. Must be able to interpret and speak with data

  • Other Skills

  • Ability to effectively plan and organize

  1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically (up to 75% of time), internationally (up to 10% of time).

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
